Why Should Light Blues Use It?
For members of the Northumbria Light Blues and new Freemasons in general, the Portal is where you can:
What is Province?
In Freemasonry, a Province is like a regional home for local Lodges. The United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) divides the country into Provinces, each with its own leadership team to support members and ensure Lodges thrive.
The Province of Northumberland looks after all Lodges north of the River Tyne, right up to the Scottish Border. Whether you're in a busy town or a rural village, if you're a Freemason in this area, you're part of a larger network of support, tradition, and friendship.
For newer members (often called Light Blues), the Province provides opportunities to connect, learn, and grow — with events, mentoring, and resources to help you get the most out of Freemasonry. And for those thinking about joining, the Province helps create a friendly and accessible introduction to what we’re all about.
The Province of Northumberland:
Being part of a Province means you're never on your journey alone — there's a whole community behind you, ready to support, encourage, and inspire.
Still want to know more?
Have you ever wondered why something happens in Freemasonry—but weren’t sure who to ask?
Meet the Worshipful Professor.
He’s not powered by AI, and he doesn’t live in a cloud. He’s a real person: a highly experienced Freemason who holds senior rank in several Orders and has spent decades learning, exploring, and supporting others on their Masonic journey.
The Worshipful Professor isn’t here to tell you how to run your Lodge or recite ritual word-for-word. But he is here to help you make sense of things—especially the bits that don’t always get explained.
This is your chance to ask those quiet questions, share a curiosity, or get some guidance. No question is too small (or too obscure).
Just bear in mind:
He does this voluntarily, because he enjoys helping newer members.
He may not always know the answer—but he usually knows someone who does.
He’s not glued to his inbox, so give him a little time to respond (he may be mid-nap).
